12:00-12:10 Vocabulary Quizz
12:10-12:20 Checking the answers of the quizz
12:20-12:32 Translation excercises of the workbook : While students are writing down the translation on the handout, the teacher writes down the original sentences in order to prepare for the explanation.
12:32-12:45 Explanation on how to translate complicated English sentences effectively, namely slash-reading method. Invitation to Saturday supplementary classes.

Comments

  • The former half is the easy activity of the vocabulary quizz. The latter half is the typical entrance-exam-oriented lection on interpretation and translation. The former is for students with lower-academic levels. The latter is the opposite. Both activities are strongly requested from students. This sort of time, I sometimes wonder which target I should choose in doing lessons.
  • No time for listening and writing. The priorities are on the above activities.
